I am an Ohio constituent writing to urge you to support passage of legislation extending the enhanced Affordable Care Act premium tax credits. Without this extension, my family’s health insurance costs will increase by approximately 50%. That increase will effectively wipe out the financial gains we have worked hard to make over the past eight years and will be devastating to our family’s finances. We are far from alone—many Ohio families who rely on the ACA marketplace are facing the same impossible situation. Affordable health care is essential to financial stability. When premiums rise this sharply, families are forced to choose between coverage and other basic needs. Extending these tax credits is a practical, bipartisan way to prevent coverage losses and protect Ohioans from serious financial harm. I respectfully ask you to support a timely extension of the ACA premium tax credits and to put the well-being of Ohio families first.
