Two American citizens have been blatantly murdered in broad daylight by the mercenary goon squad Trump has made of ICE. It is apparent that these armed individuals have neither the training nor the personal restraint to be engaging with civilians, let alone to be breaking into houses and cars and shutting down local investigations into these murders. The federal government has now moved to block two local investigations into wrongdoing by ICE in Minnesota. Twice now, ICE agents have killed a person, claiming "self defense"--in Renee Good's case, stating that she attempted to run over officers; in Alex Pretti, stating that he was approaching with a gun. Renee Good was driving away, with the officer nowhere near the front of the car. Alex Pretti was holding a phone, not a gun, and was shot after being put on the ground. There is video evidence of both of these events, and the federal administration is lying openly about what happened and stopping local police from investigating. It is obvious that Trump wants to fully control the narrative and sway citizens from believing the evidence of their eyes and ears. Defund ICE. Do not send more funding to these untrained civilians firing on other civilians. How many more Americans have to die before we stop the militarized invasion of our cities? How many more times does ICE have to detain, deport, or kill an American citizen before we see this as the beginnings of civil war? Our constitutional rights are being actively degraded, and in the name of what--national security? In the words of founding father Benjamin Franklin, those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither. We cannot call ourselves free or safe while our freedoms are being destroyed for Trump's personal psychological security.
