Do You Approve of Trump’s $500,000 Club for Political Allies? Investigate Now!
To: Rep. Nunn, Sen. Ernst, Sen. Grassley
From: A constituent in Des Moines, IA
May 9
I am writing to ask a simple, urgent question: Do you approve of a former president’s family running a $500,000 private political club in Washington, D.C., where ultra-wealthy insiders can buy exclusive access to power?
Donald Trump Jr.’s new club — named Executive Branch, no less — is a blatant attempt to monetize political influence and consolidate ideological control behind closed doors. This club is not just about luxury. It’s about constructing a private, unregulated influence hub for billionaires, MAGA donors, and far-right operatives to coordinate strategy and policy away from public oversight.
This should concern anyone who believes in democratic government. The club’s very name signals its intention to blur the line between private money and public power. According to multiple credible outlets (Politico, Business Insider, Eater DC), founding members include powerful venture capitalists and real estate dynasties with political agendas.
If you look the other way now, you are complicit in allowing shadow governance to take root in our capital.
I demand the following:
1. A full congressional investigation into the Executive Branch club, including its funders, members, and any political activity coordinated within it.
2. Immediate ethics guidance regarding the operation of private political clubs by candidates, former officials, or their families.
3. Public statements from each of you — do you support this behavior or not?
The American people are watching. History will not remember kindly those who remained silent while democracy was auctioned off behind closed doors.
