Vote YES on the Government Surveillance Reform Act. The bipartisan bill puts needed checks on FISA 702 and other government surveillance programs and protects our civil liberties. We all know the federal government, under both Republican and Democratic administrations, has a history of spying on its citizens. These abuses are well documented and have involved multiple agencies. Now the advances in AI and the explosion of Americans’ data available for purchase make this surveillance even easier and the need for these reforms more urgent than ever. It is time to require a warrant to search out data and to close the data broker loophole that allows the federal government to spy on us by purchasing our private data. We need meaningful safeguards to protect our civil liberties. Vote YES on the Government Surveillance Reform Act.
