Stand with the Constitution

To: Sen. Schmitt, Rep. Onder, Sen. Hawley

From: A constituent in Wentzville, MO

January 26

I am a Missouri constituent writing to express concern about recent actions and proposals before Congress. I respectfully urge you to oppose the current ICE appropriations bill and any measures that expand government authority in ways that risk undermining constitutional protections, due process, and the rule of law. Regardless of party, every elected official’s primary obligation is to the Constitution and to the rights it guarantees. Many Americans are troubled by increasing polarization, government overreach, and decisions that strain our democratic norms and long-standing relationships with global allies. These issues transcend politics and speak directly to our shared values: accountability, restraint, and respect for individual liberties. This is a moment for principled, bipartisan leadership. Congress must serve as a meaningful check on executive power and ensure that federal actions align with constitutional principles and human rights. Missourians are paying close attention to how their representatives lead during this time. I ask you to stand for the Constitution and for the democratic values that unite us as a nation. Thank you for your service and consideration.
