I strongly condemn Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine and their flagrant violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. It is unacceptable for any nation to launch an unprovoked war of aggression, and the devastating consequences for the people of Ukraine over the past three years are tragic. The United States voting against a UN resolution condemning Russia's actions is a shocking reversal of longstanding policy and deeply concerning. I urge the administration to realign with our European allies, send an unequivocal message that Russia's invasion will not be tolerated, and work to swiftly end the conflict through diplomatic means that respect Ukraine's right to self-determination. Continued aggression must have severe consequences through comprehensive sanctions and unified condemnation from the international community. Peace can only be achieved by Russia withdrawing all military forces from Ukraine and respecting its borders. I implore you to use all available diplomatic and economic levers to stop this senseless war and stand firmly alongside the Ukrainian people in defense of democracy and the rules-based international order.
