Take Cuba off the State Sponsor of Terrorism list!
To: Pres. Biden
From: A constituent in Spokane, WA
November 22
The cruel and unjustified designation of Cuba as a "State Sponsor of Terrorism" has caused immense suffering for the Cuban people. This designation blocks Cuba from accessing vital resources like food, medicine, and fuel, exacerbating the challenges they already face from the inhumane U.S. blockade. During his 2020 campaign, President Biden promised to reverse this harmful policy inherited from the Trump administration and pursue a path of engagement with Cuba. However, this promise remains unfulfilled as the Cuban people endure blackouts, shortages, and the devastating impacts of hurricanes without access to aid. I urge President Biden to act swiftly to remove Cuba from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list before leaving office. This callous policy has no justification and only serves to punish the Cuban people for their nation's independence and self-determination. Fulfilling this promise is a matter of human rights and restoring diplomatic relations based on mutual respect.
