Reports of avian flu ravaging C&T Fenn Farms, a mink farm near Provo, UT, have confirm it's being largely uncontrolled and unmonitored in order to protect the financial well-being of the mink farmer. One mutation of the avian flu variant could cause a devastating human pandemic, with Utah and the US at the center of the failure of prevention. The livestock at the mink farm must be euthanized as mink are the perfect intermediary host to pass a mutated virus to humans which experts fear could be deadlier than COVID-19 was. Capitalism must not take priority over health and human safety, and the federal government must step in with livestock elimination and human testing requirements to prevent the next global shutdown. Congress must take action now.
