Vote NO on the Farm Bill (H.R. 7567) that Upholds Devastating SNAP Cuts

To: Rep. Bonamici

From: A verified voter in Portland, OR

April 23

As your constituent, I urge you to vote NO on H.R. 7567, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, and instead work to reverse the devastating cuts to SNAP in H.R. 1. These cuts are already hurting Oregonians. In Oregon, SNAP participation has dropped by 40,000 people. Nationwide, participation has dropped by more than 2.5 million people. Even more will lose access to SNAP as the full brunt of these unprecedented cuts take effect. The timing of these cuts could not be worse. Visits to Oregon Food Bank’s network of 1,200 food assistance sites increased by 50% over the last two years as the cost of groceries have increased. The increased cost to gas furthers squeezes family budgets. These cuts hurt working families and Oregon’s economy. Congress must protect the 730,000+ Oregonians and 3,400+ Oregon retailers who rely on SNAP, not ignore them. I urge you to vote NO on the House Ag Committee’s Farm Bill (H.R. 7567, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026) and work with your colleagues to help more families put food on the table by reversing the cuts to SNAP.
