Oppose Mehmet Oz for Administrator of the CMS

To: Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Reschenthaler, Sen. McCormick

From: A verified voter in Crabtree, PA

March 17

The nomination of Mehmet Oz for Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) should be opposed. Oz has a history of promoting unsubstantiated medical claims and dubious products for financial gain, disregarding evidence-based practices. As a television personality with no relevant leadership experience, he lacks the qualifications to oversee health insurance programs covering over 160 million Americans. CMS beneficiaries, including 37.6 million children on Medicaid and CHIP, deserve an administrator committed to scientifically-backed strategies, not someone who has exploited celebrity to peddle pseudoscience. Oz's confirmation would undermine CMS's vital role in providing quality, affordable healthcare.
