A constituent disappointed in your decisions
To: Sen. McCormick
From: A verified voter in Kingston, PA
February 20, 2025
I write to you to convey my sheer disappointment in you.
You have, time and again, rubber stamped every unqualified nominee for the president’s cabinet with nary a thought crossing your mind. Mr. Patel, grossly unqualified and on video record of his pure disdain for the federal agency he now heads, was confirmed by you. In fact, I don’t recall a time you dissented even once to any of these unqualified picks. The only one who actually failed was Gaetz and that’s only because he took himself out of the equation.
Dimes to dollars, I bet you would have voted for him, too, because he had an “R” next to his name.
The seeds of discord are constantly being planted by you and your support of this administration. At least some of your counterparts in your party have a spine. Not that that says much; even sardines have spines.
Even your fellow Senator, Fetterman, has the audacity to - wait for it - critically think as to whether a candidate is qualified. He has actually responded to me and indicated his thoughts about these nominees, even if they’re not from his own party. Imagine that - someone who can look at each issue and actually mull things over.
But not you. No, it’s more that you see fit to just bend a knee to a now self-proclaimed king and anything he shoves in your face. We fought wars against this. How easy we forget.
Please know that, no matter what circumstance - whether you are primaried out or, more sanely, a democrat takes that seat back - I will actively donate and campaign for your opponents. I suppose that’s even if we have an opportunity to vote anymore.
For someone who took an oath of office to uphold the constitution and defend the Americans you represent, you certainly come across cowardly.
May history remember you for who you are.
