Please oppose SB 5, the “Squatter’s Bill.” This bill would trample tenants’ rights by allowing property owners to evict tenants by calling the sheriff’s department and referring to them as "squatters". There are already trespassing laws in place that landlords can use. We do not need additional legislation that strips tenants’ rights.
