Texans will be devastated by this Republican-backed budget bill. How many farmers will go bankrupt because of it? How many people will lose their healthcare? How many children, elderly and veterans will go hungry? This budget bill includes: $930 billion will be cut from Medicaid. Many rural hospitals will be forced to close. 17 million people will lose health care. Nutrition aid will be slashed by $186 billion, leaving the most-needy among us to starve. Income will drop for the bottom 40% of families. The national debt will be increased by $3.3 trillion (with a ‘t’). $45 billion will be dedicated for immigration jails and an expanded ICE secret police force. Why? So a man who traveled on his $500 million yacht to rent a major European city where he gave his bride a $5-million wedding ring can get further tax breaks? A vote for this bill will be a betrayal of Texans. If you vote ‘yes,’ you should be ashamed.
