I am asking you a very simple question: When are you going to stand up and speak out against what is happening to our federal government? The latest example is the nomination of Dennis Kirk, a co author of Project 2025, to serve as Inspector General at the Department of the Interior. According to Government Executive, Kirk was reportedly already placed inside the Inspector General’s office as a political appointee before being formally nominated to lead it. That should concern every American who believes government watchdogs are supposed to be independent and accountable to the public, not loyal to the administration they are supposed to oversee. Federal law requires Inspector General appointments to be made without regard to political affiliation. Yet we continue to see an administration increasingly placing political allies in positions that are supposed to provide independent oversight. And this is not happening in isolation. From Russell Vought to Scott Kupor and others in this administration, we are watching the continued dismantling of independent government institutions, attacks on career civil servants, and actions that raise serious questions about whether this administration respects the laws, safeguards, and constitutional checks designed to prevent abuse of power. So I have to ask you: Where are you? Why aren’t you publicly speaking out? Why aren’t you demanding accountability? Why aren’t you standing up for the institutions that are supposed to protect the American people from corruption and abuse of power? You were elected to represent your constituents, not to sit quietly while your party’s administration undermines the very safeguards that keep government accountable. And I hope you understand something: silence is not neutrality when democratic institutions and the rule of law are at stake. If you care about your constituents, now is the time to prove it. Stand up. Speak out. Demand independent oversight. Demand that political loyalty not replace competence, independence, and accountability in federal government. Republican voters and independent voters are watching what happens next. If Republicans expect to win and retain the confidence of voters in the midterms, they cannot expect people to blindly support them while they remain silent about conduct that appears to undermine the integrity of our government. You have an opportunity to show your constituents that you actually care about the country more than party loyalty. Please tell me specifically what you intend to do about this. Because silence is becoming an answer, and it is not an answer your constituents should have to accept.
