The United States has launched major military operations against Iran. At least three U.S. servicemembers have been killed and more wounded. The entire Middle East is now violently destabilized. Civilians, including CHILDREN, have died in U.S. and Israeli airstrikes.
And while this was happening, Dear Leader was at a glitzy dinner at Mar-A-Lago, dining with donors who paid at least $1million for the “privilege” of basking in his demented presence.
I have two questions: 1) Why? and 2) Where the hell is Congress?
Article I of the Constitution (you remember the Constitution; you used to claim to love it) gives Congress, and ONLY Congress, the power to declare war. What this administration is doing now is illegal, immoral, and unconstitutional.
What are we doing here? What’s the strategy, the endgame? Is there one?
We have a doddering, senile old man in the White House. We have a drunken idiot “leading” the Department of Defense. And we’ve just set the Middle East aflame.
It is time – hell, it’s PAST time – for Congress to step in and do its, YOUR, constitutional duty. No more abdication of your power, no more rolling over for a man who couldn’t find Iran on a map, no more putting lives, American and non-American alike, at risk just so Dear Leader and his crew of sadists can pump their fists and feel like big boys.
No more war. No more deaths at U.S. hands. No more bombs raining down on children and civilians. End this. NOW. Vote for the War Powers resolution. Take back your power.
DO YOUR DAMNED JOB.
