During another extended congressional recess, your religious messaging does nothing to address the urgent needs of West Virginians. You represent constituents of every faith and none. Your public office is not a pulpit.
You celebrate cuts to overseas spending while promoting assistance for Nigeria focused on Christians. Explain that selective approach. Humanitarian protection should depend on people’s needs, not whether they share your religion.
What concrete help has reached the people you promised to protect? Disclose whether any assistance or security commitments are linked to access to lithium or other Nigerian minerals, and identify the companies that would benefit. Vulnerable people must never become bargaining chips for mining interests.
Enough religious grandstanding. Deliver transparent results and do the job your constituents pay you to do.
