Denounce ICE and rescind its funding.
ICE has repeatedly violated civil and human rights through mass detention, family separation, abusive enforcement practices, and a lack of transparency and accountability. These actions do not make our communities safer—they spread fear, discourage cooperation with local services, and undermine due process.
Public funds should not support agencies that rely on detention and coercion rather than lawful, humane procedures. There are proven, cost-effective alternatives that respect constitutional rights, keep families together, and allow people to navigate immigration proceedings without incarceration.
I urge you to publicly denounce ICE’s harmful practices, end contracts and cooperation that expand its reach, and redirect funding toward fair immigration courts, legal counsel, community-based monitoring, and services that actually strengthen public safety.
Our laws can be enforced without abandoning dignity, justice, and human rights.
