I was pleased to read that you are in favor of the Senate’s Armed Services Committee opening an investigation into the possible war crimes or murder of the Sept. attack. I hope you will keep in mind that Congress has NOT declared ANY war. Drugs ARE NOT weapons of war and conviction of drug smuggling IS NOT a capital offense. There has bee NO EVIDENCE OFFERED that this boat — OR ANY OF THE BOMBED BOATS — were carrying drugs or even headed to the United States. There IS evidence that people picked up after another boat bombing WERE NOT brought to the US for trial on drug smuggling charges but WERE RETURNED to their home countries — an indication that they were NOT involved in the drug trade. Pete Hegseth is an incompetent Secretary of Defense put in place to do the bidding of Donald Trump. Trump has NO experience in the military. Rather, he managed to avoid military service due to ‘bone spurs’. Trump’s concept of history is negligible and corrupt. He is provoking military action with Venezuela for unstated nefarious reasons (oil, perhaps?) I implore you to stand up to this regime — to stand for democracy, the rule of law and ethics.
