“House Republican leaders ditch vote on ACA funding, all but ensuring premiums will rise” That’s the headline today. I am a business owner just trying to get by while also paying my employees a livable wage in this unstable economy. I am 54 years old and my husband is 63. I have chronic conditions that will worsen without health care. Yet my husband and I had to decline ACA coverage for 2026 because the monthly premium would be nearly half our take-home pay. A serious illness or accident would ruin us, but thanks to Republican sabotage we will simply have to roll the dice. Republicans have been trying to kill the Affordable Care Act’s provisions since it became law. Your party repeatedly claims to have a replacement but you never do. You’d better come up with a plan now because the entire system is about to come crashing down and it’s all your party’s fault. I know your scam is to keep the masses sick, poor, and uneducated so they are dumb enough to fall for your propaganda and keep voting for their own demise. As for my husband and myself: as the saying goes, may the odds be ever in our favor—in this Republican-created hellscape. Merry $&@!?#% Christmas.
