The proposed budget plan threatens to add a staggering $2.5 trillion to the federal deficit while slashing funding for vital public services that millions of Americans rely on. This reckless fiscal policy would burden our economy while showering more benefits on the wealthiest individuals and corporations at the expense of our most vulnerable citizens, leaving children and families without access to food assistance, healthcare, and other essential support systems. I urge you to reject this misguided approach and instead allow the 2017 tax cuts to expire for individuals and fully repeal the corporate tax breaks. Restoring reasonable taxation on the highest earnings and corporate profits would move us towards a more responsible budget without compromising the lifelines that countless families depend on to make ends meet. Fiscal discipline and policies that prioritize human needs over further enriching the ultra-wealthy must be the guiding principles.
