Dear Senators Brown and Vance, I am writing to urge you to vote YES on H.R. 6644, the Housing for the 21st Century Act. This bill is crucial because affordable, stable housing is at the heart of healthy communities and without it, people struggle to secure basic needs like employment, healthcare, and safety. The recent years of volatile and economic changes has made securing housing for the vulnerable quite difficult. As a social worker and member of my community, I see firsthand how housing insecurity harms individuals and families here in Ohio. This is one way we can work towards increasing housing supply and easing the burden on social services. It is a fine way to help reduce homelessness as well as creating equal opportunities for residency.
