Protect dept of education

To: Rep. Wagner, Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt

From: A constituent in Chesterfield, MO

March 14

Reaching out again to express my request that you vote against & oppose HR 899, or any other legislation or executive order that works to abolish the dept of education. The recent reduction in staff is terrifying… it will hurt children with disabilities, of which I know many, including my own daughter and my cousin’s daughter who has severe Down syndrome. My daughter’s best friend who is deaf; the list goes on. It will remove civil rights liberties for millions of children which is concerning during an already scary administration. It will all reduce workforce development programs that help to boost our economy. Education and children are our future. We can’t erase history, but we can be part of the better moments in history. Don’t make mistakes our ancestors did. Please speak out about this, and please protect education, those with disabilities and those who need civil rights protection.
