Congress must take control of the Idiot’s war with Iran. The US has unilaterally and indefinitely ceased hostilities against Iran, which retains control of the Strait of Hormuz and possession of its stockpile of enriched uranium. The US has left the field of battle having obtained neither surrender nor concessions from Iran. Remember when Trump and Hegseth said that the only acceptable outcome of their war was Iran’s “unconditional surrender”? We are about as far from that outcome as possible. A tragic, pointless, and ignominious outcome for everyone involved. And Trump’s initial attacks killed so many civilian and military leaders that Iran’s hard-line reactionary Revolutionary Guard is now controlling Iran’s involvement in the peace negotiations.
