Dear [Senator/Representative Name]:
I am a Kansas constituent writing to respectfully reframe the current political landscape and urge you to reconsider your legislative approach.
Many have expressed concern about a "growing gulf between left and right" and a "shrinking middle." I believe this mischaracterizes what is actually happening. The true political center is not a compromise zone—it is the Constitution and the rule of law. This is our baseline, our standard, and the foundation against which all policy should be tested.
The divide we observe today is not symmetric polarization. Rather, one end of the spectrum has abandoned constitutional governance altogether, while millions of ordinary Americans—parents, farmers, small business owners, and working families—are demanding a return to constitutional principles. We are not extremists; we are the center, and we are growing.
Three specific concerns:
Constitutional accountability matters more than party loyalty. When you vote contrary to constitutional principles—regardless of party affiliation—you undermine the foundation of our democracy and disappoint constituents across the spectrum who expect their representatives to uphold the Constitution first.
Ordinary Kansans are mobilizing around this principle. This is not a left-wing movement. Teachers, veterans, business owners, and families are demanding that elected officials follow the rule of law. Ignoring this growing constituency means missing an opportunity to lead.
The center cannot move rightward into authoritarianism. The Constitution is not negotiable. It is the line of absolute principle from which all legitimate governance derives.
I urge you to prioritize constitutional governance over partisan alignment. The center—and the voters occupying it—has never been larger or more awake.
Respectfully,
