Why do we have to keep having this stupid argument? January 6, 2021 was the day a mob, incited by our current president and stoked by other political barnacles, attacked and defaced the Capitol, attacked Capitol police trying to protect members of Congress, defiled our Constitution. A mob incited by a man who refused to believe he lost an election and tried to do everything in his power to stop our democratic process for choosing a president. By any means necessary. We all watched it unfold on our TVs. He failed. History, and reality, shows that. Full stop. But the official White House website reversed that reality on January 6, 2026. The official WH website now states emphatically that the insurrectionists who beat and wounded at least 140 police officers, smeared feces on the walls of the Capitol building, and called for the hanging of VP Pence were “peaceful patriotic protesters.” The real villains, the WH wrote in bold type, were “the Democrats who staged the real insurrection by certifying a fraud-ridden election, ignoring widespread irregularities, and weaponizing federal agencies to hunt down dissenters.” Of all the agencies that have been corrupted and co-opted with state propaganda to promote the self-aggrandizement of one man, this is the worst. It is a slap to the face of America. It is outright lies sold to us as patriotic claptrap. This is twisted history in the words of a man who shamed America with his actions on January 6 and now wants us to believe a reality that exists only in his own head. He knows he lost. He knows he did what he did. But he is again doing everything in his power turn black into white right before our very eyes. It was BS then. It is BS now. You know better. And if you continue to accept, or even agree, to this assessment of such a vile event in our country in the service of a malevolent and mentally disturbed president you cannot continue to claim to be a patriot serving the nation. The stain that Donald Trump will leave on this country will be hard to remove. And it will be impossible to remove if the GOP Congress doesn’t stand up and finally say enough is enough. We the people are fed up with it all. Why aren’t you?
