Whatever became of this? On March 10 the WaPo reported on a whistleblower complaint filed in January saying that a former employee of DOGE claimed he had taken two highly restricted databases of information about US citizens from the SSA. Where he had unrestricted access. And that he planned to take them to a government contractor. Those files included the SSNs, birth dates, place of birth, citizenship, race, ethnicity, and parents’ names of more than 500M living and dead Americans. According to the whistleblower, the person with the files said he needed help transferring the data from a thumb drive to a personal computer in order to “sanitize” the data before using it at his new job. When another colleague refused to help, citing concern about breaking the law, the person with the information allegedly said he expected that Trump would give him a pardon if he needed it. In January, the WaPo also reported that after another whistleblower complaint, the administration admitted to a court that the SSA had discovered that a DOGE employee had entered into a secret agreement with a political group, promising to share Social Security data in order to overturn election results in certain states. WTF? Reporting said that the SSA also acknowledged that DOGE employees had used an unofficial third-party service to share data with each other and that the SSA had been unable to access it. How is it that any of this was permissible? Is Congress investigating any of this? Will these DOGE employees ever be questioned about their violation of the public trust? And the law no doubt. Who allowed our private, personal info to be loaded onto a random thumb drive by an independent contractor who intended to sell it to the highest bidder? Is the DOJ investigating any of this? A DOJ official had told the WaPo that the department was not currently investigating DOGE. Is the SSA investigating any of this? Congress seems to selling out their constituents at every turn. Our info. Our tax dollars. Our sons and daughters in a corrupt, illegal, and unnecessary war. What exactly is the point of you? Is sideshow the only thing you do successfully anymore?
