President Biden, please act now to save our environment before you go

Before President Biden leaves office, there are crucial actions he can take to combat climate change and protect our environment. The administration must reject fossil fuel expansion projects like the proposed CP2 liquefied natural gas export terminal in Louisiana and the permitting bill that would gut environmental laws and open up federal lands for oil and gas leasing. Instead, Biden should use the Antiquities Act to designate new national monuments, including Sáttítla/Medicine Lake Highlands, Chuckwalla, and the site of the Tulsa Race Massacre. Finalizing protections for mature and old-growth forests under the U.S. Forest Service is also imperative given their ability to remove carbon from the air. Finally, the EXPLORE Act should be passed to expand outdoor access for all Americans, helping close the nature equity gap. With just months left, the time is now for the President to cement his powerful environmental legacy.
