An Open Letter
To: Rep. Kennedy
From: A constituent in Sandy, UT
July 26
I am disgusted and angry that you sold out Utah, Utahns, native tribes, and all of the USA.
I know that you know that the vast majority of Utahns did not and do not want Bears Ears and Grand Staircase Escalante reduced. We said no. Again and again we said no. We’ve all loudly said NO to every effort to sell off our public lands.
And you just didn’t care.
You went around us and got the president to sign an executive order.
How dare you.
How dare you sell us all out.
I’m furious. We all are. I just got home from vacation with my extended family, who are all FAR more conservative than I am. They spend more time outdoors than I do too… hunting, fishing, and other recreation. They are furious. I honestly gave up on you years ago, but they were holding out hope. That hope is dead. You destroyed it. You destroyed whatever goodwill the people of Utah have had for you.
If you have a shred of decency left, anything at all, you’ll dedicate the rest of your limited time in office to undoing the reckless harm you’ve sown.
Write me back and tell me what you’re personally doing to undo the damage.
