Release the Epstein Files and Investigate J.D. Vance's Role

To: Sen. Van Hollen, Sen. Alsobrooks, Rep. Elfreth

June 14

Release the Epstein files in their entirety — now — and launch a full congressional investigation into everyone implicated in their suppression. According to reporting from the New York Times, Vice President J.D. Vance chaired a Situation Room meeting with the Attorney General, FBI Director, White House Chief of Staff, and other senior officials to strategize how to spin the Epstein story. Vance reportedly said "this is a huge problem" and floated using Tucker Carlson to interview Ghislaine Maxwell as a damage-control move. That is not governance. That is a cover-up. Congressman Robert Garcia is already calling for Vance to testify before Congress, and he's right. The FBI 302 victim statements reportedly mention Donald Trump directly, and the Department of Justice's blanket denials are not a substitute for transparency. Every official in that Situation Room needs to answer for what was discussed and why the public is still being kept in the dark. Hold the hearings. Compel the testimony. Release the files.
