Reject Governor Dunleavy's AKLNG Subsidy Package

Vote no on Governor Dunleavy's proposed subsidies for the AKLNG pipeline. The $46 billion cost estimate is, by the state's own consultant's description, a back-of-the-napkin figure based on a decade-old study adjusted only for inflation. The actual cost range runs to $92 billion. Committing billions in state tax cuts and Permanent Fund earnings to a project with that kind of uncertainty is reckless.
The transparency problems alone should kill this deal. AGDC officials admitted they are "100% aligned with Glenfarne" and that even equity-holding lawmakers won't necessarily receive full project economics data. The state's 25% ownership stake will be diluted with every cash call we can't match, and the original gas source — the Great Bear Pantheon fields — turned out to be unbankable. Sen. Bert Stedman called the cost estimates "complete garbage," and he's right. Don't let ad blitzes and pressure campaigns substitute for due diligence. Hold the line.
