I’m your constituent and I'm writing because I understand Democrats will soon be holding leadership elections. I want to make clear that I have no faith in either Chuck Schumer or Hakeem Jeffries to do the job we need. There is so much talent in the Democratic caucus, and so many lawmakers who have shown they know how to fight, to message effectively, and to inspire their base. Schumer and Jeffries have done none of these things. To the contrary, they are already talking about working across the aisle or “not wanting revenge.” That angers me. We don’t want our leaders to work with fascists and we very much DO demand accountability. We have a deep, amazing, diverse bench. If you want to keep us—the people who just delivered you a historic victory—happy, you will choose new leadership. Don’t squander the goodwill you’ve just built up. Thanks.
