An Open Letter

To: Rep. Womack, Sen. Cotton, Sen. Boozman

From: A verified voter in Fayetteville, AR

September 23

This evening, I exercise my Constitutional right to voice my opinion and petition my government. I am deeply thankful for my father and other relatives who served in the military to protect and defend our Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. It is heartbreaking to see members of Congress neglect their sworn Oath of Office. For years, I have written urging you to put your foot down and keep Donald Trump in check. I have read countless open letters from citizens, and the theme is the same: Americans are pleading with you to do your job—to protect this nation from sliding into dictatorship. History will not be kind to those who lacked the courage to defend the Republic when it mattered most. I spent 22 years serving my community in emergency communications. I approached that work seriously, ethically, and morally. I was paid to provide lifesaving service, and I held myself accountable. I expect the same from my elected officials. Please find the strength to honor your oath. Exercise checks and balances. Keep Trump in line. You work for the citizens of Arkansas—not for Trump, not for Israel, not for any other interest. Your duty is to the people who elected you and to the Constitution you swore to defend. Thank you for your time. I pray you will find the courage to put country over politics and protect our democracy. Closing Reminder: Never forget—you swore an oath to the Constitution, not to Trump.
