To my Democratic representatives: I am thrilled with the tremendous win in the election yesterday. I am hopeful for the first time in a long time and I hope you feel that as well. I know there is a lot of discussion now about how to best move forward. Today I heard Hakeem Jeffries say: "The American people don't want us to get even; they want us to get things done on their behalf."
I can’t say this strongly enough: It’s not about getting even. What we want is for you to enforce the laws. What we want is justice and for people to be held accountable for their wrongdoings. We don’t have a country if laws are not enforced and if certain powerful people are deemed exempt from those laws. Furthermore on a purely practical note, if they are not held accountable for their actions, they will just return stronger—we just saw this happen in 2024.
Thank you for listening. I am excited for our futures.
Also, Democrats need to stop throwing trans people under the bus. They deserve our full support and we will stop supporting those of you who don’t agree with this. Taking this bigoted, unpopular position doesn’t lead to more votes anyway.
