Leadership requires drawing clear lines. Funding agencies without enforcing transparency, body cameras, de-escalation training, and meaningful oversight signals acceptance of abuse rather than commitment to the rule of law. Kansans deserve representatives who put constitutional rights and human dignity ahead of political convenience. I urge you to change course: oppose DHS funding that enables rights violations, condition any appropriations on strict accountability and transparency, and support humane, lawful alternatives that actually keep communities safe.
