While his passing is tragic, no death should be weaponized to justify political persecution, censorship, or the erosion of civil liberties. Already, we see attempts to use this moment to target left-wing organizations and individuals under the guise of blame or retaliation. This is a dangerous precedent that threatens free speech, democratic debate, and the safety of countless Americans who dissent from the right-wing agenda. I urge you to stand firm against any effort to silence or criminalize political opponents through state power. Furthermore, I am deeply alarmed by efforts to censor or punish individuals who criticize Charlie Kirk or his ideas. Freedom of expression must include the right to critique public figures and their political impact, even in the wake of tragedy. To suppress that right is to erode the very foundation of our democracy. Finally, I am gravely concerned about the continued attacks on transgender rights. These attempts to roll back protections, restrict healthcare access, and deny basic freedoms represent an assault on some of the most vulnerable members of our society. No political party or figure should be allowed to use tragedy as cover for dismantling civil rights and advancing discriminatory agendas. I implore you to: 1. Oppose any legislative or political effort to persecute left-wing individuals and organizations. 2. Defend freedom of speech and resist censorship of critics of Charlie Kirk or his movement. 3. Protect the rights of transgender people and reject any attempt to strip away their freedoms under the pretext of “unity” or “order.” History will judge how leaders respond in moments like this. I ask you to uphold democratic principles, protect marginalized communities, and ensure that no death is exploited to justify authoritarian overreach.
