An Open Letter
To: Sen. Schumer
From: A constituent in Forest Hills, NY

I’m disturbed by recent news that you will be joining with Speaker Johnson to invite PM Netanyahu to speak before Congress.
As a Jewish-American, I am deeply uncomfortable with Israel’s actions in Gaza and do not believe that we should be platforming their far-right and extremely unpopular PM. He is responsible for an apartheid state and a genocide in Gaza and does not deserve our attention. He has made Israel into a mark of shame on the world stage.
I hope this news was in error or that you will reconsider the invitation. Perhaps instead you can invite some Palestinian journalists to come speak about their experiences.
