Have you heard this one yet? Sure you have. Before leaving for his trip to China, Trump took questions from the press on the WH lawn. About 10 minutes into his appearance, a reporter asked, “When you’re negotiating with Iran, Mr. President, to what extent are Americans’ financial situations motivating you to make a deal?” Without hesitation, Trump replied, “Not even a little bit.” He continued: “The only thing that matters when I’m talking about Iran — they can’t have a nuclear weapon. I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation. I don’t think about anybody. I think about one thing: We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. That’s all.” Are we sure he’s not a closet Democrat? Seems like he’s single-handedly trying to crash your party. But, like clockwork, Republican lawmakers seem to be trying to downplay Trump's comments. Republican Senator Lummis from Wyoming was recently asked about it and said, "Did he say that? I don’t have a comment about that, mostly because I think he actually does care." You’re going to have to do better than that. Between the ask for $1B of taxpayer money for his golden ballroom/saferoom, tanking insurance coverage for millions, gutting social services including the feeding of hungry children, starting a war that is making daily life unaffordable at the grocery store and the gas pump etc etc etc…how exactly do you think he cares? We the people are only brought up as an excuse when ne wants to do some awful thing that none of us want. Then he’s all concern about our safety and well-being. And wants to be congratulated on his fine job on our behalf. He gives us stuff we don’t want. And not much of anything we do. So please don’t embarrass yourselves by trying to translate the truth as spoken by an American president into anything but what it is. His unfiltered truth. We know it. You know it.
