Protect the 2026 Elections From Federal Interference

To: Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla, Rep. Chu

From: A verified voter in Pasadena, CA

July 28

You need to act now to defend the integrity of the 2026 midterm elections. Trump's March 31 executive order is already attempting to seize control of voter rolls using error-prone commercial databases and threatening local election officials with prison for non-compliance. The First Circuit just blocked mail-in voting restrictions in 23 states. The courts are holding the line — but they can't do it alone. The SAVE America Act, which passed the House, would hand election administration to the federal executive and impose citizenship documentation requirements designed to suppress voter registration. Senate Majority Leader Thune says the votes aren't there to pass it — keep it that way. Beyond legislation, credible reports warn of FBI agents at polling places, ICE deployments to intimidate voters, and bad-faith challenges to certified election results under the Federal Contested Elections Act of 1969. Every attempt to refuse certification since the modern election denier movement began has failed — and that record must hold. This is not a hypothetical threat. Organizers are already running tabletop exercises to counter federal disruption at the polls. I expect you to match that urgency — publicly oppose any federal interference in state election administration, defend certification processes, and make clear that seating duly elected members is not negotiable.
