Your Cosponsorship of the SAVE Act

To: Sen. Schmitt

From: A verified voter in Springfield, MO

February 26

As a Missouri constituent, I am deeply disappointed that you cosponsored the SAVE Act. This bill risks making it harder for eligible citizens to vote by imposing documentation requirements that could disproportionately affect married women, seniors, rural voters, and others who may not have ready access to specific records. Election security and voter access should go hand in hand, not be used to restrict participation. Lastly, Heritage data shows that voter fraud was miniscule in the past 30 years. Do you understand why your constituents KNOW this act is for voter supression only? For the sake of fairness and equity, I urge you to reconsider your support for this legislation and explain how it protects, rather than limits, the voting rights of eligible Missourians. Frankly, as a Christian, I would be ashamed to cosponsor this act.
