We are witnessing a dangerous consolidation of power, characterized by the weaponization of federal law enforcement (including ICE) against citizens and legal residents, violent state repression of dissent, and the dismantling of judicial independence. History has shown that when legislatures refuse to restrain authoritarian leaders, they become complicit in the destruction of freedom. I urge you to take immediate, bold action to: Actively oppose the misuse of federal agencies to intimidate protestors, journalists, and political opponents. Cut funding for immigration enforcement actions that have bypassed due process and caused death and injury. Use every procedural tool available to Congress to halt executive overreach and uphold your oath to the Constitution. Delay is not caution; it is enabling a crisis.
