I’m horrified by Trump’s weaponization of the Justice Department. Their indictment of James Comey, simply because he’s someone Trump loathes, is unacceptable and terrifying. Justice in the United States is not supposed to look like this, but it’ll get much worse if Congress doesn’t step up. Every member of Congress should speak up against this appalling abuse of power. Our precious democracy is under assault, and we, the people, are looking to you to defend it. Staying silent while Trump dismantles our rights and freedoms, especially our freedom to dissent, makes you complicit. I am urging you to speak out and assure your constituents that you are willing to advocate for us and for the Constitution.
