Vote No on the Save Act

To: Sen. McCormick, Rep. Dean, Sen. Fetterman

From: A constituent in Royersford, PA

March 12

I am writing as your constituent to urge you to vote NO on the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. While election security is important, this bill risks creating significant barriers for eligible American citizens who have the legal right to vote. Requiring documentary proof of citizenship in order to register could disenfranchise millions of voters who do not have easy access to documents such as passports or birth certificates, including seniors, rural voters, married women whose names have changed, and lower-income Americans. Existing law already makes it illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections, and election officials already have tools to maintain secure voter rolls. The SAVE Act would instead add costly bureaucracy and unnecessary hurdles for legitimate voters without meaningfully improving election security. Our democracy is strongest when voting is secure and accessible. Policies that risk blocking eligible voters from participating undermine public trust and weaken the democratic process. For these reasons, I strongly urge you to oppose the SAVE Act. Thank you for your time and for representing our community.
