Support the Emergency Housing Vouchers

To: Sen. Husted, Sen. Moreno, Rep. Turner

From: A constituent in Dayton, OH

May 21

The Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program has provided life-saving assistance to more than 70,000 households experiencing or at risk of homelessness and fleeing domestic violence.   However, funding for the EHV program is insufficient to cover the continued cost of assistance, putting this vital program at risk of ending and putting those households who rely on an EHV at risk of returning to homelessness. This funding cliff comes as the Trump Administration proposes cutting funding for housing vouchers and other rental assistance programs by 43%. Housing vouchers are a proven, evidence-based tool that help over 5.2 million people with low incomes afford a safe, stable, accessible home.
