I am writing to as your constituent and as a concerned citizen. I urge you to remember who you were elected to serve. Working-class Americans are drowning in this economy. Rent keeps rising. Groceries cost more every week. Healthcare is unaffordable. Families are working harder than ever and still falling behind.
At the same time, Americans are forced to watch politics in Washington turn into spectacle. Public office increasingly looks like a revenue stream. The presidency is treated like a branding platform. The federal government is not a family business, and taxpayer trust is not something to be exploited.
Day after day, controversy after controversy, Americans are left asking the same question: where is Congress?
The erosion of ethical standards and the normalization of conflicts of interest are not minor issues. They weaken public trust and damage our democracy. We see massive political fundraising, questionable financial entanglements, and a system where loyalty too often appears measured in dollars rather than duty.
Meanwhile, the American people are struggling just to survive.
Families are choosing between rent and groceries. Workers are juggling multiple jobs but still cannot afford housing. Medical bills push people toward bankruptcy. Debt is crushing an entire generation.
We are exhausted, and we need help.
Congress was elected to serve as a check on power and to fight for the people—not to remain silent while trust in government erodes and working families fall deeper into crisis.
Oversight is not optional. Accountability is not partisan. Leadership is not silence.
Hold hearings. Enforce transparency. Defend ethical standards. Most importantly, act to help the working people of this country who are barely staying afloat.
We are not spectators.
We are not donors.
We are citizens.
And we are asking you to do your job before the damage becomes irreversible.
