Investigate Trump's Mental Fitness for Office

To: Rep. Elfreth, Sen. Alsobrooks, Sen. Van Hollen

From: A verified voter in Arnold, MD

June 21

Congress needs to formally investigate whether the President is mentally fit to hold office. A new book by New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan documents Trump comparing himself to Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Napoleon, and Hitler — and he then posted that same document publicly on Truth Social. This is not a political attack. It is a documented pattern of grandiose thinking that raises serious questions about cognitive health and judgment at the highest level of government. The consequences of unchecked decline are already visible. Trump signed an Iran deal that abandons his own stated goal of "unconditional surrender," hands Iran a $300 billion reconstruction fund, and leaves their nuclear program effectively unconstrained — then defended it by pointing to the stock market. That is not dealmaking. That is a failure of basic strategic reasoning. Congress has both the authority and the responsibility to demand a full, independent cognitive and mental health evaluation. The public deserves to know the person with nuclear launch authority is fit to serve.
