Stop the infringement of Civil Liberties and First Amendment Rights

To: Sen. Cruz, Rep. Doggett, Sen. Cornyn

From: A verified voter in Austin, TX

June 8

The deployment of military forces against civilian protesters exercising their constitutional rights is an unacceptable escalation of force. We must urgently de-escalate tensions and restore faith in our democratic institutions through dialogue and addressing root causes of unrest. Martial law would only further inflame the situation and erode civil liberties that make America strong. As a public servant, your duty is to protect and uphold the rights of all citizens. I urge you to condemn this overly aggressive action in the strongest terms and work to find a peaceful resolution that respects the American people's grievances and right to protest injustice.
