Please do what you can to reunite this poor man with his 3 kids and wife!
He had a work permit but didn’t know he filed asylum papers wrong and now ICE has held him since Feb in a horrible Tacoma detention center!
Spokane immigrant Alberto Lovo Rojas, a man with three kids, a wife and no criminal record who fled persecution in Nicaragua, was detained in February. Rojas had a deportation order from 2021, when he accidentally filed asylum paperwork incorrectly, but he had a legal work order permit to stay in the United States at the time of his detainment. Now, months later, Rojas is running out of options (https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2025/aug/14/spokane-immigrant-who-fled-persecution-in-nicaragu/). Despite the Nicaraguan government’s seizure of his mother’s farm just last year, immigration court officials don’t think there is a present enough risk to Rojas to grant him asylum. His family is devastated, especially as Rojas faces inhumane conditions at the Tacoma Detention
