The proposed legislation undermines support for lower and middle-income families. Analyses show the bill would financially hurt 60-80% of households, with the bottom 30% being over $1,600 worse off annually on average. This is unacceptable and runs counter to claims of helping the working class. At the same time, the bill increases funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement by $75 billion over several years. Policies should uplift struggling families, not further burden them while enriching agencies that tear communities apart. I urge you to reject this misguided bill that takes from the poor to give to the privileged few and instead champion legislation that genuinely improves lives for ordinary Americans. We need reforms that expand economic opportunity and security for all, not open new frontiers of inequality and hardship.
