Halt arms enabling Palestinian genocide in Gaza

In light of the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing being perpetrated by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza, I implore you to take immediate action to halt arms sales that enable these atrocities to continue. Over 150 Palestinians have perished from deliberately induced famine conditions, part of Israel's siege tactics that severely restrict humanitarian aid access, amounting to a systematic campaign to destroy the Palestinian people in Gaza. The proposed arms transfers, including explosive munitions like 1,000-pound bombs that have caused unconscionable civilian casualties in unlawful strikes, as well as assault rifles destined for extremist Israeli forces implicated in extrajudicial killings and forced expulsions, represent a flagrant violation of human rights standards. Enabling Israel's indiscriminate violence and impeding lifesaving relief efforts makes us complicit in these acts of genocide. As representatives, we have an ethical duty to ensure U.S. arms do not facilitate such grave crimes against humanity. The escalating death toll, including attacks on civilians seeking aid, underscores the urgency to prohibit these arms sales that only perpetuate this genocidal cycle of ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian population. Concrete steps prioritizing human lives over military support for Israel's exterminationist policies are vital to alleviating immense suffering and pursuing a just resolution.
