You need to investigate and publicly demand answers about why the DOJ's Civil Rights Division appears to have hired David Michael Levin — a man who pleaded guilty to hacking election websites — to monitor elections. Levin was convicted of using SQL injection attacks to steal credentials from Florida election officials, logged in as an administrator without permission, and bragged about it on YouTube. He served 20 days in jail. Now he's apparently standing outside polling places in Minnesota representing the federal government. This isn't a staffing oversight. The Civil Rights Division is the office enforcing voting rights laws and leading the nationwide push to collect sensitive voter data. Levin appeared alongside senior DOJ Voting Section counsel William Mohrman at a Minneapolis polling site during the August primary, and evidence places him at Harmeet Dhillon's July 8 swearing-in ceremony. The DOJ has refused to confirm or deny his employment. With 1,000 monitors planned for November, the public deserves to know who is staffing that operation.
